One Piano

Anthony Sherin documented what happened when a piano was left out on the street in Manhattan.

Making this film was pure serendipity. After a January snowstorm in New York City, I decided to do some work on another film, in my home in Washington Heights. But as I approached my desk, I thought I heard a piano plinking. I looked out the window and saw a piano on the curb below. I was mesmerized by the pattern that emerged.

Sherin snapped pictures over the next 24 hours, which resulted in a complete story, set to music by Art Labriola.

Albastru, române, ţi-e steagul,
Dar ştii tu de ce ? Să te-nvăţ.
Albastru-nsemnează ciocoii,
Şi tot ce-ţi aduni tu cu boii
Din mila căldurii şi-a ploii
Al lor e, şi-acum şi de-a pururi,
Şi-al tău, cerşetorule, -un băţ.
Dar rabdă, c-o fac din iubire:
Să tem că te duce-n perire
Belşugul prin trai cu răsfăţ.

Şi galben, române, ţi-e steagul,
Iar galbenul spune de voi,
De cei de la pluguri, ţăranii,
Voi galbeni de foame sărmanii,
De boale purtate cu anii -
La scară, şi dracul vă ducă!
Stăpânii au scumpe nevoi:

A fi puternic

În societatea actuală se justifică, îndeosebi, prezenţa unei anume calităţi: aceea de a fi puternic.

Gândul ne duce, în mod firesc, pe două planuri: unul  legat de trup(partea vizibilă) ,şi, celălalt, de suflet(partea nevăzută).

Un trup puternic rezonează cu sănătate. În principal,trebuie, să-i oferi o alimentaţie corespunzătoare ,  precum şi, să faci, zilnic, câteva exerciţii fizice.

Dar un suflet puternic? Găsesc răspunsul în cuvintele părintelui Arsenie Boca care, spunea, în Tainele Iubirii, că ” puterile sufletului sunt: mintea, iubirea şi voinţa”.  Aşadar, constat că, o sumă de trei valori reprezintă cheia.

Cu o minte luminată de farmecul iubirii, creezi voinţa necesară, asemeni unui impuls, spre a trăi mai frumos.

Mai rămâne de discutat un singur aspect. Este cel referitor la modul cum se îmbină cele două planuri. Interiorul va reprezenta, întodeauna, sursa de vitalitate pentru  exterior. Împreună formează mecanismul complet, ce caracterizează, omul puternic.

O vorbă aduce pe alta, adesea fără voie. Închei, prin a vă invita, să reflectaţi dintr-un alt unghi, ceea ce înseamnă a fi puternic.
